What to wear while visiting Egypt

ree

Ah Finally! Egypt, here I come.

The time has arrived to pack. But before I open my suitcase, let me share with you what I'm planning to wear during my trip.

Well, I have to say that it took me quite sometimes to select my outfits, but I did it! You can also watch the full video with much more details of my outfit on my YouTube channel.

This is the first outfit on the list. I bought this set (pants and tunic) in Istanbul for $15. Yep! That's how cheap it was.

For my trip to Egypt, I want my outfits to check three boxes: modesty, comfort, and lightness. I opt for breathable fabrics like cotton or linen that allow for comfort.  That includes scarves and hats to elevate my style and provide protection from the sun.

One of my favs! This full outfit is from Amazon Fashion. The Pants are very comfortable, and the Kimono as well. Get the full outfit here.

Choosing my clothes wasn't difficult, as I spent my childhood in a place where modesty is a big part of the tradition. I just had to make sure my clothes are light, as I'm traveling to Egypt at a time when the climate is very hot.

Egypt is a 90% Muslim country. The rest of the population is mostly Coptic Orthodox. So I would avoid anything too revealing.

Generally, when I visit a place, a city, or a country, I want to embrace and adapt to their culture of that country in terms of clothing, while respecting my own values and integrity, of course. Therefore, I want all my clothing to respect Egyptian culture.

I love this outfit. I won't wear it with the sandals in the picture. In Egypt, I will be wearing sneakers most of times, given I will be walking a lot. I got the top from Macy's and the skirt from Cato Fashions. Get this full outfit via this link before they are all sold out.

For a trip to Egypt, it's advisable to pack clothing that can be considered "conservative." I will mainly wear clothing that covers most of my body. If it is a dress, it should be very long below the knee and have short or long sleeves, but not sleeveless.

This set of dress and scarf was a gift from my Mama. It was made in West Africa, and it is one of the most comfortable dresses one could wish for.

Wearing shorts or a miniskirt is not an option for me. If so, only in my hotel room. I will also have scarves with me.

This dress is another one from West Africa, very comfortable.
